Backyard Birds Dot Card

Backyard Birds is a palette of 6 handmade, mica watercolors. This collection is inspired by the bright colors and iridescence of common Maine birds. It's designed to be versatile-- the primary colors can be mixed into secondaries, and the two interference colors can be layered or mixed to add iridescent effects.

This listing is for a sample-sized palette/dot card. Each dot card contains more paint than a half pan-- it's a lot of paint! Dot cards are perfect if you like trying a lot of different colors, or if you want to test out colors/formulas before investing in larger sizes.

Backyard Birds dot cards include:

- Cardinal, a bright red
- Goldfinch, a rich golden yellow
- Blue Jay, a royal blue
- Hummingbird, an interference green
- Chickadee, a dark pewter gray
- Grackle, an interference purple

DETAILS

Ingredients: Micas, distilled water, gum arabic, vegetable glycerin, and clove leaf oil. The dots come on a 4.5x3 inch piece of cellulose watercolor paper.

Lightfastness: All of the pigments used to color the micas in this collection have excellent lightfastness ratings. I wouldn't expect any fading, but I would recommend testing for lightfastness if you you need to be certain of how any watercolors will perform.

Dot card backers are professionally printed with black, waterproof ink.

My mica paints are nontoxic when used as intended, as an artist paint. They have not been formulated or tested for any other purpose.
